ECA announcement.

"ECD becomes WCD.

The European Circus Day (ECD) seems to be a good means to draw positive attention to circus culture. The Board of the Federation Mondiale du Cirque has suggested a worldwide extension of this ECA initiative. During the ECA board meeting in Remscheid on May 23, this suggestion was accepted.

As before, World Circus Day will take place on the third Saturday in April, thus for 2010 on April 17. "

NGO "Swedish Clowns without Borders" are coming to Lithuania. (www.clownswithoutborders.net). This organization has worked for about 12 years in different parts of the world with the focus on children. They send artists and clowns to refugee camps, orphanages, prisons and so forth. The mission is to give the children and their families hope and laughter. Almost everyone work as volunteer. This summer they will be on tour in Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine and Moldova. It is the very first time the Swedish Clown visit Lithuania. "Swedish Clowns without Borders" will do they mission in our country between June 17 and 21.

The second European Circus Day takes place on 18 April 2009. This year, the European Commission includes the event in its survey of activities in connection with the European Year 2009, Creativity and Innovation.
